HAVE MY VIEWS/PERCEPTION OF CENSORSHIP CHANGED AFTER DOING MY GROUP PROJECT?

   It has been difficult but we all have came through a long way, from planning out everything to doing research regarding the documentary or the topic of censorship that we will be shooting for documentary and also the amount of sleepless nights we have gone through, it would be a little ridiculous for me to say this but I find that my views or perception towards the censorship has changed only a little which somehow I disagreed to some of the unnecessary censorship. I believe as a reader you will be asking me such as what? Okay, here's the thing, censorship towards nudity or some of the VERY VERY the maximum hella violent acts those I have got no comment towards it, it is a good thing to have censorship for that. However, having the censorship towards the culture or truth which every citizens deserve to know or having Mr Zunar to continue doing what he is doing as he said, it is his responsibility and he once said in an article I have read through, as a cartoonist, it is a great opportunity to stand up to fight the unjust rulers by using ART. In relevant to that, I think everyone has given the opportunity to actually express their thoughts in a lot of different ways, it is something I must say, looking at the surface, it might look like a negative thing but if we..can look from a different angle, we should cherish the artists or cartoonists because of their talent and creativity.

   To me, I did the censorship documentary about Lion Dance and the only part that makes no sense is the part where the people suggested Lion Dance to be changed into Tiger Dance in order to be recognised as the Malaysia Heritage Culture. The remaining one such as normal Lion Dance, it is pretty much okay to me because to start a new community as in Malaysians, I think we need something new which from every culture such as Lion Dance for example, it was not recognised because everything which involves Lion Dance is exactly the same with what China has. However, the Malaysian Chinese has came out with something different where it is the Lion Dance jumping and dancing on the pole and also gaining the popularity by winning a lot of the World Championship awards, I personally think, this is the right way in making Malaysia looking different from others and of course to change something in the culture or performing art, it can only be better and never ever change it to become worse.
